The Center for the Protection and Use of Historical and Cultural Heritage discussed a unique find from the Turkic period discovered in the Sandyktau district
On October 21, as part of the celebration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Day, the Center for the Protection and Use of Historical and Cultural Heritage held a round table on the topic:
"Sandyktaudagi taska bederlengen turki dauirinin relief bet beynesi".
The reason for the meeting was an archaeological discovery and the results of the study — a stone bas-relief depicting a human face, dating from the VI–IX centuries. It became part of a unique sacred complex, including mounds, a menhir, a stone wall and a quarry.
The event was attended by scientists, representatives of museums and libraries, teachers and students of Kokshetau University named after Sh. Ualikhanov, Kokshetau University named after A. Myrzakhmetov, as well as students of Lyceum school No. 18 named after S. Zhunusov.
During the discussion, the participants considered:
— ways to preserve the monument;
— prospects for its further study;
— popularization of historical and cultural heritage among a wide audience.
Special attention was paid to the issues of including the monument in scientific and cultural circulation.
History is coming to life — it is important to preserve it for future generations.
