In the area of the village of Balkashino, Sandyktau district, emergency personnel of the Sandyktau district during the exercises identified an object of historical and cultural heritage "A relief image of a man on a stone."

To date, specialists of the KSU "Center for the Protection and Use of Historical and Cultural Heritage" of the Department of Culture of the Akmola region and Daniyar Tleugabylov, an archaeologist at the L. N. Gumilev Eurasian National University, have studied this object of historical and cultural heritage. Professor Gian Luca Bonora, an archaeologist from Italy, also participated in the study.

The relief image of a man on a stone is presumably a place of worship for religious rituals dating back to the Turkic period.

Facial features are characteristic of Turkic fine art. After conducting a full scientific study of the monument, a conclusion is drawn about the period to which it belongs.

In accordance with paragraph 1 of Article 4 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 26, 2019 No. 288-VI ZRK "On the protection and use of objects of historical and cultural heritage", identified objects of historical and cultural heritage are included in the list of preliminary registration by local executive bodies of regions, cities of republican significance, the capital and are subject to a final decision on their status. In accordance with this Law, historical and cultural monuments are subject to the same protection.

The following research works are planned to be carried out on the identified object of historical and cultural heritage:

- study of archival documents, certificates, reports and other data;

- collection of oral information from the words of local residents, local historians, museum workers;

- carrying out research work at the historical and cultural heritage site:

archaeological fixation: photo fixation, creation of 3D models, topographic survey;

geo-scanning of the area around the historical and cultural heritage site.

- summarizing the results of the research work;

- preparation of accounting documentation: passport, registration card.

Also in September, exploration work is planned on the territory of the Sandyktau district in order to identify monuments of historical and cultural heritage.
