On April 12, 2024, the republican scientific and practical conference "Kazakh archeologiyasyn atasy-Alkey Margulan" was held to mark the 120th anniversary of Alkey Margulan, dedicated to the International Day of Monuments and Historical Sites

As Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted at the last meeting of the National Kurultai, reverent attitude to one's land and country is one of the most significant qualities of the personality of "Adal Azamat". The monuments represent the heritage of all Kazakhstanis, which forms a national identity. The President of the country also noted that a person who sincerely loves his homeland protects the nature of his country in every possible way. This is what patriotism is all about, which needs to be developed and promoted in society. At the conference, scientists from different fields discussed and exchanged experiences, opinions not only on the achievements and prospects for the development of the scientific field, but also methods, approaches and solutions in the field of preservation and protection of archaeological monuments, which also provided an opportunity to learn more about the diversity of world heritage and the forces that are applied to protect and preserve it. At the scientific and practical conference, in accordance with the directions of the event, reports were presented by historians, archaeologists from the cities of Astana, Kokshetau, Karaganda, Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, Ulytau regions, which widely highlighted the activities of archaeologist, ethnographer, orientalist, historian, philologist, literary critic, art historian A.H. Margulan, about his great contribution to the development archaeology. Archaeology, as a science that studies the past on the basis of the material remnants of human society, is one of the most important components of historical science, and plays an important role in this. The relevance of archaeological projects is manifested in the fact that when studying archaeology, young people not only theoretically, but also practically, directly during the organization of field practices, excursions to archaeological sites, touch the past of our country. The interaction of archaeology and historical local lore makes it possible to educate the younger generation to the awareness of the historical and cultural value of their native land and to form the foundations of the historical and cultural thinking of the younger generation, i.e. their understanding of the interrelationship of territories in historical development, the significance and importance of studying the past of mankind. The culmination of the event was the solemn ceremony of acceptance of young participants of archaeological protection and rescue operations into the ranks of young archaeologists and the presentation of certificates.
