On October 14, 1939, the Akmola region was established by Decree of the President of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. In April 1999, by Decree of the President of Kazakhstan, a new Akmola region was opened and the city of Kokshetau was designated the regional center. Akmola region is currently the largest agricultural, industrial, and economic development zone.

Today, the KSU "Center for the Protection and Use of Historical and Cultural Heritage" of the Department of Culture of the Akmola region in honor of the 85th anniversary of the formation of the Akmola region held a history lesson "Historical and cultural heritage of the Akmola region" for students of the Higher Multidisciplinary College of Civil Defense of the city of Kokshetau. During the lesson, slides, video materials and an exhibition were shown about the creation of the Akmola region, about the territory, population, its national composition, as well as about the historical and cultural heritage of the Akmola region. The students received valuable and interesting information.

The goal is to instill our land, history, spiritual and cultural heritage, and knowledge at a new level. We believe that the historical and cultural heritage of the Akmola region, nourished by the national and spiritual roots of our country, will serve the younger generation to confidently move into the future, instill in them a patriotic spirit.
