The burial place of the national composer Birzhan Kozhagulov (1832-1897) (bust, stele)
In 1950, an obelisk was built on the grave, and reconstruction was carried out in 1994. Kozhagulov (Birzhan sal) (1834-1887) was a famous Kazakh akin improviser, singer, one of the brightest representatives of the oral musical tradition. In addition to his poetic and compositional gifts, B. Kozhagulov possessed a strong and beautiful voice. He had many students.
The territory of the entire complex is paved with square concrete slabs, fenced with a low openwork fence, the grave itself and the site on which the monument is installed are lined with pink marble tiles. The vertical and horizontal steles and the rectangular platform on which they are installed are lined with the same tiles that are not standing to the right of the grave. The grave with monuments is fenced with posts with chains. After the reconstruction, instead of an obelisk, a semi–figure of Birzhan sala, authored by sculptor T. Dosmagambetov, was installed on a solid rectangular block of red granite. Against the background of an arched metal structure is Birzhan Sal in national clothes, his right hand is pressed to his heart, with his left hand he holds a dombra. The image is solved with the transfer of portrait features. The semi-figure is cast in bronze.
